I hope your having a wonderful Halloween so far and that your Halloween activities this evening are fun and safe! I am super excited to go through my children’s’ candy later to sneak as many Snickers as I can get away with! There are so many Halloween adventures in Delaware, it’s hard to know what adventure to choose!
Here in Delaware, you will find many different Halloween attractions during the month of October. Many of the local farms such as Fifer Orchards or Bobola Farms have a large array of fresh fall fruits and veggies, pumpkin picking, corn mazes, hay rides and much more!
You will of course find plenty of spooky adventures as well! After all, Delaware’s history is full of ghostly gruesome tales of early colonists massacres! Have you ever heard of Slaughter Beach.. The Murderkill River… Broadkill Beach?
A great website to find out more about all kinds of gruesome adventures is http://www.delawarehauntedhouses.com/, you can find information on Frightland, Screams at the Beach and other wooded trails throughout the state put on by local parks, farmers and volunteer fire departments.
There are also plenty of REAL Haunted houses here in Delaware. Check out the Woodburn Mansion in Dover! I hear they have a ghost who drinks wine every night if you leave it out for him!
One of the largest events happens after Halloween though! What to do with all those leftover pumpkins? PUNKIN CHUNKIN!!! I am super excited to take my family camping at Punkin Chunkin in Bridgeville this weekend! It’s a great family event! People travel from all over the world to see who can toss, throw, HURL their pumpkins the farthest. The tailgating and camping goes on for 3 days in large soybean field. I will have to post pictures next week after the adventure!
Be safe tonight, enjoy the beautiful weather and changing leaves and HAVE FUN!
